What Types of BDSM Are There?

Master/Slave Relationships

This could be considered a “classic” form of BDSM. In essence, one partner is the “master” and the other is a “slave”. The slave will generally do things for the master: in the case of sex, it is the master who has the upper hand in everything. The slave usually has to ask for certain things, and the master can happily deny it as a form of “ownership” is also involved here. There is even the possibility to switch roles during the play, but for the most part, this is usually under the master’s control as well.

The owner/pet relationship is indeed an unusual one, but it is essentially another spin on the Master/Slave relationship. The difference is more or less the dressing: the dominant partner is the owner and the submissive partner is the pet. The “pet” can literally be anything: a pet human, a pet lizard, anything you put your mind to. For example, the person acting as a pet “dog” will do dog-like things: eat food and drink from a bowl, be petted, punished, rewarded etc.

This is also probably one of the most diverse types because the role play can be very different depending on the person and the mood. It is also something that can involve multiple people, although this is something that will have to be organized beforehand if it involves multiple persons who are not entirely sure of one another.

Kinky role play is something that can involve the classics: whips, chains and more. It can also involve other devices such as balloons, feathers and more. There is literally no end to the kinds of role play that can be brought into it. The only real limit here is the person’s imagination, so make sure that you’ve got a good imagination, to begin with!

Age Play

Age play is an interesting one as it tends to delve deep into the psyche… And to a part of the psyche that some people might find a little disturbing or incestuous: this is because it could involve older brother/younger sister, mother/son, father/daughter and similar combinations.

As you can see there is a whole host of different options available. And of course, there are much more that can be added to the pile. The real limit in BDSM is only the kinkiness and the imagination of the player. It’s up to you how wild you want to be!
